I always studied at a desk or other area where it's comfortable to be for a few hours at a time, and had all of my short term needs present, whether it was something to drink, munch on, chew, whatever. The less I got up the more I could study. I could never study in public places because I'm too concerned with what everyone else is doing and having a contingency plan should something happen there, so at home was always best for me.
